IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Earl
"Jack" Works, Sr.
November 26, 2025
Robert Earl "Jack" Works, Sr., 84, of Niagara Falls, New York, passed away on November 26, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on October 9, 1941, in Pigeon Creek, Alabama, he was the son of the late Ruby (Harris) and Herbert Works.
Robert, known to most as Jack, was a hardworking man who took great pride in providing for his family. He was known for his love of fishing, his talent for working on cars, and his passion for racing in his younger years, as well as watching western movies. Jack's hands were rarely still—he enjoyed fixing, building, and helping others with anything mechanical. In his later years, he cherished spending time at Frankie's Donuts with his friends. Above all, he was family-oriented, devoted, and happiest when surrounded by those he loved.
Jack leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Rosie Works; his children: daughter Tonia Works, son Robert Earl (Alice) Works Jr., daughter Tina (Sheldon) Matthews, and stepdaughter Elicia Monroe; 15 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his close cousin Mary Richardson and a host of other cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Willis Lee Works; his sisters, Zola King and Ella Daniels; and his first wife, Octavia Works.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to everyone for their prayers, love, and support during this time of remembrance. They would also like to offer a special thank you to the staff of Mount St. Mary's and Sisters Hospital for the compassionate care shown to Jack—especially the janitorial and custodial teams, doctors, nurses, aides, and the comfort care team.
