Robert Lee "Jonesey" Jones, Sr., 81, of Niagara Falls, NY passed from this life on Tuesday April 30, 2013 following a brief illness, under the loving care of his family and Niagara Hospice. Born on September 19, 1931 in Philipsburg, PA he was the son of the late Harry and Minnie (Enss) Jones.

Robert attended schools in Pennsylvania and graduated in June 1949 from Philipsburg High School. He later graduated from pipefitter and welding school through Stauffer Chemical Co. He was employed as a pipefitter at Harrison Radiator in Lockport, NY and retired in 1996. Jonesey, as he was known to his family and friends, served in the U.S. Army from November 28, 1952 until his honorable discharge on November 27, 1954. He married Dixie Lee (Bowser) Jones on September 28, 1957. Robert and Dixie enjoyed fifty five wonderful years together and were blessed with three children. Robert loved his family, his best friend Robert Kirkpatrick, as well as all his friends, which were many, and his dog Peppy. He had a passion for the outdoors and going to his camp. Bob also enjoyed archery, hunting, fishing and bowling. Bob achieved a perfect bowling score of 300 a couple times, his most recent being on February 14, 2012. Jonesey was a member of the 7-Clan Bowman Club and the LaSalle Sportsmen Club.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his daughter, Linda Ann (Thomas) Skrlin of Lewiston, NY; two sons, Robert Lee (Penny) Jones, Jr. and Jeffrey Alan Jones both of Niagara Falls, NY; six grandchildren, Jennifer Sieck, Jessica (Eric) O'Grady, James Gordon Hill, II, Jamie Skrlin, Robert Lee Jones, III and Christian Miller, and loved his great-grandchildren Noah, Andrew and Chloe Sieck; Hailey Hill and Baby O'Grady. Robert is also survived by two brothers, Paul (Betty) Jones of Tennessee, Harry (Connie) Jones of Sanborn, NY; one sister Ann (John) Mandel of Pennsylvania and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by one sister Mary Viehdorfer.

Visitation will be on Sunday May 5th from 2 – 3 p.m. at the
M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will immediately follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Ronald Maines officiating. Interment at the convenience of the family will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Robert Lee Jones, Sr. may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
