Robert 'Bob' Metro, 64, of the Town of Niagara, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 surrounded by his loving family at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Nicholas, Sr. and Lilla (DiRuscio) Metro.

Robert was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. He attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1968. He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves with the 914th Air Base in Niagara Falls, NY. Robert was employed as a senior pipefitter tradesman by the Carborundum Company in Niagara Falls for twenty eight years. He later worked at Upstate Pharmacy in West Seneca, NY. He was a longtime parishioner St. Joseph Church now known as Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph in Niagara Falls, NY. He enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes. Robert also liked going to the Como Goose's Roost at the Airport Restaurant daily for lunch with his brother, Nick. But most of all he loved spending time with his family, particularly his children and grandchildren.

Robert is survived by three daughters Adrienne C. (Jeff) DeVantier of Niagara Falls, NY; Erika M. (Anthony) Tortorice of Virginia Beach, VA and Ashley M. (fiancé Mario DiBartolomeo) Metro of Niagara Falls, NY; ten grandchildren Alexandria, Samantha, Domenic, Anthony, Sami, Mia, Joseph, Mario, Autumn and Mariah; two brothers Nicholas (late Katherine) Metro, Jr., twin brother Richard Metro both of Niagara Falls, NY; one sister Delores (Phil Barr) Hazelton of Williamsville, NY; his former wife Carol (Fracassi) Metro and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the brother-in-law of Danny Fracassi of Niagara Falls, NY, William Bellegia of Las Vegas, NV, Billie Jo (Robert) Peters of Las Vegas, NV; Bambi Feuz of Niagara Falls, NY and Robin (Carl) Bishara of Lewiston, NY.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 3 - 7 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Monday June 8th at 11:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
