Robert J. Monti, 83, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on January 9, 2024 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Walter and Rose (Travis) Monti.  On June 23, 1979, he married Sandra 'Sandie' J. (Waggoner) Monti.  Mrs. Monti predeceased him on February 4, 2023 after 43 years of marriage.

Bob was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.   He attended Niagara University and completed his Bachelor's Degree in Education at Buffalo State College, where he later went on to earn a Master's Degree in Special Education and Administration.  Prior to his Master's Degree, he was employed as a Social Studies Teacher in the Newfane and Wilson School Districts for over 5 years.  He then became a Special Education Teacher in the Niagara Falls City School District for over 20 years, working primarily at LaSalle Middle School, until his retirement in 1998.

Bob enjoyed building model ships and airplanes, and was a beautiful painter and sketch artist.  He was also a football and baseball fan, and loved cheering on the Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees.  An avid gardener, Bob took extreme pride in maintaining his yard and garden.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Dana (Glenn) Carroll; his grandchildren, Montgomery Carroll and Magdalena Carroll; his in-laws, Debbie Waggoner, Sharon (Robert) Rapp, Kathryn Steele, and Kenneth, Waggoner, Jr., as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20 from 11 AM – 12 PM at M.J.
