Robert W. Prefer, 37, of Lockport, NY formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Saturday February 23, 2013 at Eastern Niagara Hospital at Lockport. Born in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of Jean (late Robert) Prefer of Niagara Falls, NY.

Robert was an avid follower of all types of sports, especially Buffalo Bills football and Buffalo Sabres hockey. He also enjoyed watching wrestling and was proud that he had the opportunity to meet professional wrestler, Hulk Hogan. Robert especially enjoyed the many activities he participated in with his friends at Opportunities Unlimited.

In addition to his mother, Robert is survived by his sister Elizabeth (Joseph) Vekich and his brother David Prefer, both of Niagara Falls, NY. He was the fond uncle of Michael and Samuel Vekich, and is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his "Nannie", Jean Bender on November 12, 2012.

Visitation will be Thursday February 28th from 6 – 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD. NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Interment in Oakland Rural Cemetery, Youngstown, NY will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara, LPO Box 360, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
