Rocco Leo, 80, of the Town of Niagara, NY, died on Monday August 17, 2009 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Charles and Angeline (White) Leo.

Rocco was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. He attended local schools, and served in the United States Coast Guard from February 27, 1946 until his honorable discharge on May 24, 1947. On August 25, 1951 he married Patricia A. (Franjoine) Leo at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Rocco was employed as a pipefitter and millwright at Occidental Chemical Company in Niagara Falls, NY for forty two years, and retired in 1989. He was a member of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America, Cataract Lodge #240 in Niagara Falls and the Italian War Veterans. Rocco enjoyed golfing and playing cards particularly Poker, but his greatest pleasure was being with family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife of fifty seven years, Rocco is survived by his two sons, Jeffrey (Karan) Leo and Rocky (Janis) Leo both of the Town of Niagara, NY, five grandchildren, Nicole, Denise, Matthew, Samantha and Alex, one great-grandchild Carter, one sister Mary (late Bill) Reid of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by six brothers and one sister, James (late Mary) Leo, August (late Frances) Leo, Anthony (late Eva) Leo, Louis (Ines of Lewiston, NY) Leo, Josephine (late Fred) Gabriele, Charles (late Betty) Leo and Harry (Dorothy of Florida) Leo.

There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Thursday August 20th at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent De Paul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. James Fugle officiating. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls NY at the convenience of the family.
