Rodney H. Bovanizer, 76, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Wednesday June 16, 2010 at his residence. Rodney, the son of the late Melita John, was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. For over twenty years, Rodney was employed as a truck driver for Mayflower Moving Co. and later at Mike Young Trucking. He was a member of the Tuscarora Baptist Church. Rodney was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres. He also liked watching western movies but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends who will always remember his great sense of humor.
Mr. Bovanizer is survived by his children, Jeffrey Jamieson, John Jamieson both of Niagara Falls, NY; Joanne Bovanizer of New York City, Janice Bovanizer of Niagara Falls, NY; Howard Bovanizer of Ft. Scott, KS; Janet (Thomas) Neubauer, Mareta Bovanizer, Rod Bovanizer, Kenneth (Melissa) Bovanizer all of Niagara Falls, NY; Rosanne Brown of Six Nations, Ontario, and was predeceased by one daughter Marla Jamieson-Fadel. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, one sister Joan (John) Galante of California, his cousin Carole A. Montour of Six Nations, Ontario, his former wife Mareta Jamieson of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by one grandson James "Jimbo" Fadel.
Visitation will be held on Sunday June 20th from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON FUNERAL CHAPEL, 468 19TH STREET, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where services will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Walter Printup officiating.
