Roger C. Rasmussen, 79, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Niagara Rehabilitation Center. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the loving son of the late Carl and Ethel (Hagerman) Rasmussen.

Roger attended local schools and served in the United States National Guard until his honorable discharge. On August 20, 1955, he married Angela (Fasanelli) Rasmussen at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls. Angela predeceased him on January 7, 2010, after 55 delightful years together.

Roger was employed as a pipefitter at the Occidental Chemical Company in Niagara Falls for over 35 years until retiring in the mid-1990s. Following his retirement, he took great pride at working in the maintenance department at O.L.P Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY, where he touched the lives of so many people with his warm smile and loving ways. Roger was a devout Catholic and faithful servant of God. He was also an avid gardener and a passionate animal lover.

Mr. Rasmussen is survived by his beloved daughters, Rosemarie (Peter) Ross of Youngstown, NY and Roseanne (Eulalio III) Silva of Chicago, IL; dear grandchildren Lisa (Noel) Grammer, Ryan Ross, Michael Silva, and his loving great-grandson Rogue Logan Grammer. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Roger was predeceased by his brother Robert (Donna of P.A.) Rasmussen and sister Ruth (late Les) Warder.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 8th from 4 – 8 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road Falls, NY, where funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 9th at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
