Ronald 'Ron' Billings, 71, of the Tuscarora Nation, NY, passed away on November 20, 2024, at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center in Niagara Falls, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late George R. and late Jeanette (nee Ireland) (late Dudley) Burnham.

Ron was a beloved graduate of Niagara-Wheatfield High School. He worked for over 30 years at Smokin' Joe's Tobacco Company on the Tuscarora Nation until shortly before his passing. On October 4, 1999, he married Joni M. (Ferguson) Billings in Niagara Falls, NY.

As a proud member of the Deer Clan of the Tuscarora Nation, Ron was deeply committed to his Tuscarora and Mohawk heritage and served as an active Native Indigenous Rights Activist for many years. He enjoyed hunting, playing croquet, and playing pool, and his work ethic was unwavering—he worked right up until his passing. Ron cherished spending time with his family and friends, greeting them with a kind heart and 2 extended hands. His mild-mannered, loving nature and appreciative spirit, always ready for a good joke, will be fondly remembered.

In addition to his wife of 25 years, Joni, Ronald is survived by his siblings: Russ-Ellen Harris, Russell Billings, Beverley (late Ernie) Kemp, Rena (Fox Ward) Billings, Richard Billings, and John Billings. He was also a cherished uncle to several loving nieces and nephews who cared for him dearly. Ronald was predeceased by his siblings, Sharon Billings and Robert Billings.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 1 at 3 PM at the Tuscarora Indian Mission, 5035 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY 14132. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tuscarora Indian Mission. Arrangements by M.J.
