Ronald R. Burton, 70, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Wednesday June 23, 2010 at Millard Fillmore Gates Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Robert and Charlotte (Julian) Burton.

Ron was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. He attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On July 11, 1964 he married Jaqueline M. (Thompson) Burton at St. Mary of the Cataract Church in Niagara Falls, NY. He was employed by the City of Niagara Falls for over twenty four years as a groundskeeper at Hyde Park Golf Course and was still working until the present time. Ron was an avid sports enthusiast and among his favorite pastimes was horse racing. But his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and he especially enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren how to golf.

In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by two children Gina Burton and Ron Burton II both of Niagara Falls, NY; three grandchildren Michael Cook, Jason Strope and Alyssa Burton all of Niagara Falls, NY; two sisters Darlene (Richard) Bozek and Diana Heughan both of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where services will begin on Monday June 28th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary & Joseph parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
