Ronald T. Nye, 44, of Lockport, NY, died on Wednesday July 8, 2009 at his residence while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of Roger C. and Shirley A. (Cable) Nye of Grand Island, NY.

Ron attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School in Niagara Falls. On July 14, 1990 he married Kimberly A. (King) Nye in Niagara Falls, NY. Ron worked as a self employed auto mechanic and ran his own towing service. In his younger years he worked as a motorcycle mechanic for Tuf Racing in DeKalb, IL. Ron's passion for motorcycles began at an early age. He was a member of the Western New York Motorcycle Association and was actively involved in motocross racing. Ron was the founder of the annual Can-Am Race in Batavia, NY, where each year the best racer from Canada and the United States were awarded the Ronald T. Nye Award. Ron truly had a love for his work. He also enjoyed traveling and his dogs but most of all he loved being with his family.

In addition to his wife and parents, Ron is survived by his son, Ryan Nye and daughter Reann T. Nye both of Lockport, NY; two brothers Roger Nye and Robert (Kimberly) Nye both of Niagara Falls, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the son-in-law of Kenneth and Margaret King of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and the brother-in-law of, Brad (Rose) King and Karen (Rui) King both of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Friends may call on Saturday July 11th from 5 – 9 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY.
