Rosana "Rose" Sigismondi, 94 of Lewiston, beloved wife of 52 wonderful years to Joseph P. Sigismondi who predeceased her March 8 ,2001. NY passed away Monday March 9, 2020 at Elderwood at Wheatfield.  Born on May 1, 1925 in New Mexico, she was the daughter of the late Aaron and Josefina (Rodriguez) Martinez.

Rose grew up in New Mexico with 6 sisters and 4 brothers; and graduated from high school. During World War II, she moved to Denver to help with the war effort, where on a sunny afternoon, she met her husband Joe, as he looked into the reflection of a store window and saw her beautiful red hair. Later that year, they were married in New Mexico and moved to Niagara Falls, NY, where they raised three children. Rose and Joe started a family business, The Electric Contact Supply Co., working afternoons with vendors and customers building a future for the family that it is still in operation today. Rose truly enjoyed family time and always greeted you with a sparkle in her eye and a big smile. Her grandchildren and great- grandchildren brought her special joy that they fondly remember with her. The family home was always open to share the day with you, and her good cooking made sure you never left hungry. She enjoyed going to church on Sunday with family dinner planned afterwards. On Sunday March 8, 2020, a sunny afternoon, the anniversary of her beloved husband Joe's passing, we saw Rose reach out as though grabbing his hand, the next evening, March 9, 2020 he pulled her back to his embrace.

Rose is survived by her three children, Nicholas (Marianne) Sigismondi, Michael Sigismondi, Cheryl (David) DeGolier, grandchildren Joseph (Elaine) Sigismondi, Rosanna Lively (Daryl McGriggs), Heather DeGolier (James Mulholland), Great-grandchildren Dominic Lively, and Hayden Mulholland, Sister of Lucy Martin and Lourdes Martin, also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rose's family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to the 5 ^th floor staff at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, the compassionate staff at Elderwood at Wheatfield, McCauley Seton Home Care and Mercy Care Aids. Memorials in Rose's honor may be sent to Niagara Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
