Rose A. Ianni, 96, of Firestone, CO (Boulder Area) formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, at her residence under the care of her loving family and Bristol Hospice. She moved to Colorado in November 2014 to be closer to her family. She was a loving, devoted Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt and Friend.
Born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 2, 1930, she was the beloved daughter of the late Pasquale “Patsy” and Anna (Morreale) Cortellini. Rose met the love of her life, Frank Ianni, when she was 15 years old. They were married on June 3, 1950 at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Niagara Falls, NY and were happily married for over 56 years until Mr. Ianni predeceased her on March 6, 2007. She was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church for over 50 years. They enjoyed spending time with their family, dancing, traveling and each other's company.
Rose worked at Neisner's 5&10 as a teenager. After graduating from Niagara Falls High School in 1948, she worked at Moore Business Forms for 10 years. She became a stay at home Mom in 1959 when her first child was born. From 1974 until her retirement in 1994, she worked at Our Lady of the Angels Association Novena Office on the Niagara University Campus in Lewiston, NY in the financial office balancing the daily books.
Rose was a charter member of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America, Cataract Lodge #240. She was an excellent cook and baker of Italian Specialties and American Food. She enjoyed watching cooking shows to get new ideas.
Rose is survived by her son, Lewis and her daughter Shelly, both of Firestone, CO, Sisters-In-Law Josephine (late Peter) Ianni; Monique (late Joseph) Ianni and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister Sarah (late Jack) Ferrante and her brother John (late Dorothy) Cortellini.
Rose's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers who provided compassionate care and support to her. Rose will be deeply missed for her kindness, bright smile and compassion for all. She was liked by everyone.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, April 19 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304, where Rose’s Funeral Service will begin on Monday, April 20 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Robert Stolinski officiating, followed by a procession to St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY with entombment in Resurrection Mausoleum.
Per Rose's request, flowers are graciously declined. Memorial donations in her name can be made to a charity of one's choice.
