Rose A. Amato, 92, of Lewiston passed away on January 17, 2022 at Our Lady of Peace Health Care Facility.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Cosmo and Rosaria (DiCesare) DiMeo.

On August 9, 1952 Rose married Salvatore 'Sam' Amato in St. Joseph Church, Niagara Falls, NY.  Mr. Amato predeceased her on July 27, 2001.  Rose worked at Carborundum, NF Business Forms and Wal Mart as a Greeter for 20 years.  She enjoyed playing cards and word search puzzles and was a member of the Cardellini Club, which consisted of 8 close knit family/friends who played cards on a weekly basis for over 40 years.

Rose is survived by her children, Luanne (Daniel) Hill, Salvatore J. (Gail) Amato, Joseph (Katie) Amato and Philip (Veronica) Amato; her grandchildren, Nicholas C. (Jessica) Hill, Beth (Tim) Good, Christopher (Angela) Amato, Michael (Jennifer) Amato, Alex (Jessica) Amato, Maddie (Trent) Neros, Salvatore Amato, Francesco Amato, Grace Amato, Miranda Amato, Marissa Amato and Michelle Amato; twelve great -grandchildren and her brother Frank (Ginny) DiMeo as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.   She was predeceased by her siblings Irma (late Charles) Montagna. Lena LaScala, James 'Vince' (late Carol) DiMeo, and Louis (late Annie) DiMeo.

Rose's family would like to extend a special thank you to the Our Lady of Peace Staff, along with family, specifically Alex, Jessica and Max for the compassionate care given to her.

There will be no prior visitation.
