Rose A. (Maglio) Calandrelli, 88, of Hollywood, FL and formerly of Niagara Falls, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 26th, 2016 surrounded by her loving children. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine (LaDota) Maglio.

Rose graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1946, where she honed her vocal talents in an acapella singing group. On August 19, 1950 she married Arthur "Art" M. Calandrelli at the former Our Lady of Lebanon Church in Niagara Falls. Mr. Calandrelli predeceased her on February 22, 2004. Rose was employed at Nabisco Shredded Wheat Company and also E.I. DuPont. In her later years she was a beloved paraprofessional for the mentally handicapped at Harry F. Abate Elementary School.

During her years as a wife and mother, she was known for her charitable and volunteer work. Among those organizations were the Ladies Auxiliary of Saint Mary's Hospital, The Niagara Falls Boys Club, The Bereavement Committee of Sacred Heart Church, and Home School Partners. She was infamous for her yearly spaghetti and meatball dinners for her husband Art's football team that he coached at Niagara Falls High School for many years, and her many cookies that she made with "the girls" for all of the weddings and celebrations for family and friends.

Above all, Rose enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be remembered by many for her loving nature and good heart.

Rose is survived by her four loving children, Arthur (Ismael Martinez) Calandrelli, Ellen (Nick Granteed) Latham, Cindy (John) Teeto and Chris (Shirley) Calandrelli. She will be missed greatly by her grandchildren (who knew her as Noni) John, Michael, and Nicholas Teeto, as well as Evan and Holly Latham. She is also survived by her sister Mary Carter and a very large extended family of nieces, nephews, and relatives. Rose was predeceased by one brother Dan Maglio.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 3rd from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart and Soul at 939 Ontario Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY (heartloveandsoul.org), as this would continue to honor Rose's tradition of compassion and goodwill toward the less fortunate.
