Rose Mary (Tripoli) Damone, 71, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Sunday August 2, 2009 at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Madeline (Schebell) Tripoli.

Rose Mary was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School and later served as chairperson for her class reunion. Rose Mary was actively involved in the Democratic Party, and member of the Niagara County Democratic Committee. For eight years, she worked as a legislative aide for former Assemblyman Joseph Pillittere, and from 2000 until her retirement in 2008, Assemblywoman Francine DelMonte. Rose Mary was a member of the Volare Lodge, and Cristoforo Colombo Society both located in Niagara Falls. In her leisure time she enjoyed playing cards, going to the Casino, and especially liked being with her girl friends for a night out on the town.

Rose Mary is survived by her three children, Frank (Eleanore) Damone, Donna Damone both of Phoenix, AZ and Lisa (James) Attfield of the Town of Niagara, NY; ten grandchildren, Nicholas (Cynthia) Damone, Sr., Samuel Damone (Josie), Leah Damone, Joseph Damone, Richard "R.J." Jeffries, Jade Jeffries, Connor Jeffries, Nina Scalzo, Francesco Scalzo and Gino Scalzo, two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Damone, Jr. and Mattea Damone, one sister Joanne (Louis) Pasquale of Lockport, NY; one brother Samuel Tripoli of Arizona and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by one sister Constance (late Louis) Pucci.

Friends may call on Thursday from 3 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Friday August 7th at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John De LaSalle Church, 8469 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Slawomir Siok, SAC officiating. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to a charity of ones choice.
