Rose (DeFranco) Moreale, 99, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Tuesday March 24, 2009 at Schoellkopf Health Care Facility in Niagara Falls. Born in Perry, NY she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo "James" and Caroline (Fusco) DeFranco.

Rose came to Niagara Falls as an infant with her family and attended local schools. On April 8, 1958 she married George Moreale at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Moreale predeceased her on July 12, 1988. Rose was a talented artist who excelled at oil painting and was the recipient of several awards for her china and oil painting work. Her artwork has been donated to Schoellkopf Nursing Home. Rose was also an avid seamstress and enjoyed millinery work.

Rose is survived by one sister Angeline (late Joseph) Borgese of Niagara Falls, NY; two brothers Russell (late Marjorie) DeFranco of Niagara Falls, NY and Michael "Mickey" (Ann) DeFranco of Lewiston, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one sister and four brothers Josephine (late Nicholas) Schiro, Frank (late Yolanda) DeFranco, Anthony (late Mary) DeFranco, Anthony (late Josephine) Guarino, and Samuel (late Flora) (late Bernice) DeFranco.

Friends may call on Friday from 3 – 7 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday March 28th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary of the Cataract Church, 259 Fourth Street, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Michael Burzynski, PhD. Officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
