Rose M. Scarcelli, 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at O.L.P Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born on the East Side of Niagara Falls, NY, she was the loving daughter of the late Antonio and Theresa (Bonnano) Larratta.

On October 29, 1949, Rose married Guido Scarcelli at the former Our Lady of Lebanon Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Scarcelli predeceased her on December 4, 1985.

Rose attended local schools and was employed as a packer with Nabisco from 1941 to 1952 and also worked for the Niagara County Board of Elections.

A devout catholic, she was an active member of the former Our Lady of Lebanon Church in Niagara Falls for over 70 years. She was also a member of the Alter and Rosary Society, Ladies of Charity, Home and School Association and chaired many of the St. Joseph's tables. Rose was also the rectory cook for many of the priests.

Rose was an excellent cook and carried on many of the Italian traditions of baking and cooking for her family which she loved to do, she was especially known for her white cookies.

Mrs. Scarcelli is survived by her three children, Guido (Rose) Scarcelli, Jr. of Bradenton, Fl., Richard (Laura Lasher) Scarcelli and Mary Scarcelli both of Niagara Falls; one grandson Michael (Krystal) Scarcelli of Niagara Falls, NY and two great-grand daughters, Jenna Rose and Leah Ann. Rose is also survived by her loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Scarcelli is predeceased by four brothers Joseph Guido, John Larratta, Leonard Larratta and Louis Larratta.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 4th from 3 – 8 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 5th at 10:00 A.M. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
