Rose Ann (Rotella) Serpa, 96, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY died on Sunday August 9, 2009 in Roseburg, Oregon. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Gaglinese) Rotella.

Rose attended local schools and was employed at Moore Business Forms in Niagara Falls. In 1939 she married Carl L. Serpa at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls and moved to Florida in 1949 where Rose became the manager of Richards Furniture Store. Rose and Carl relocated to California in 1972. Mr. Serpa predeceased her in 1980 and in the early 1980's she returned to Florida to live until she moved to Oregon in 2007 to live with her daughter. Rose was a member of the AARP. She enjoyed singing in her church choir and will be remembered for being young at heart.

Mrs. Serpa is survived by one daughter, Anita Nicosia of Myrtle Creek, OR; two grandchildren, Carl Nicosia and Belinda Nicosia, four great- grandchildren, Kelsey Nicosia-Tragni, Nicholas Nicosia, Franki Nicosia and Joey Nicosia and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great- nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three sisters and six brothers, Angeline (late Ellis) Cox, Mary (late Charles) LoCurto, Dominick (late Carmella) Rotella, Thomas (late Mary) Rotella, Vincent J. (late Catherine C.) Rotella Sr., Louis Rotella, Catherine (late Ralph) Guaracsi, Joseph Rotella and Peppy Rotella.

There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to a funeral services on Monday August 24th at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery, Mausoleum Chapel 3806 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane R.
