Rosemarie LaGatta, 81, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on April 4, 2026 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Casper and Mary (Maglio) Scozzafava.
Rosemarie was a graduate of Madonna High School. On August 24, 1965, she married the love of her life, Giuseppe “Joe” LaGatta, Jr. Mr. LaGatta predeceased her on August 5, 2019, after nearly 54 years of devoted marriage.
For 34 years, Rosemarie worked as a Salesperson at the Fragrance Outlet in the Niagara Factory Outlet Mall. She truly loved her work, forming lifelong friendships with coworkers and customers alike. Her dedication, warm personality, and unmatched work ethic made her a top seller year after year. She also worked for many years as a self‑employed hairdresser, always looking forward to seeing her regular Saturday clients.
Rosemarie had a passion for cooking and was exceptionally skilled in the kitchen. No one ever left her home hungry, and she was especially known for her beloved Italian Wedding Soup. She enjoyed shopping, hosting holidays, and above all, cherished every moment spent with her family.
Rosemarie is survived by her daughters, Mary Ellen (Ron) Walker and Chiara (David) Durkin; her grandchildren, Briana (Nicholas) Wylucki, Noah Walker, Alyssa Durkin, and Gabriella Durkin; and her great‑granddaughter, Michelena Wylucki. She is also survived by her siblings, Joanne (late Eugene) Strassburg and Russell (Filippa) Scozzafava; her special nieces, Stephanie Cecconi and Megan Strassburg; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her extended family at the Fragrance Outlet.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank‑you to the nurses and staff of the 3rd Floor and ICU at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, as well as to Dr. Milind R. Chaudhari, for the compassion and care shown to Rosemarie and her family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, from 3–7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
