Rosetta A. (Aloe) Walters, 82, of Belchertown, MA, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY died on Sunday February 14, 2010 at Hadley at Elaine Nursing Home in Hadley, MA. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Cuda) Aloe.
Rosetta attended local schools in Niagara Falls. She graduated from Niagara Falls High School and Kelly Business Institute. On June 21, 1950 she married Elio Walters in Niagara Falls. Mr. Walters predeceased her on February 10, 1994. She was employed as a secretary for the Boy Scouts of America and later as the campaign manager for the United Way of Niagara both in Niagara Falls. In 2001 Rosetta moved to Massachusetts and resided with her daughter until 2005. She then lived at Arbors at Amherst Assisted Living in Amherst, MA until 2009.
Mrs. Walters is survived by two daughters Cindy (Thomas) DelZoppo of Columbia, MD and Karen S. Walters-Zucco (spouse Lisa M. Walters-Zucco) of Belchertown, MA; six grandchildren Alicyn DelZoppo, Marisa DelZoppo, Edward Walters-Zucco, Brittany Walters-Zucco, Evan Walters-Zucco and Nicholas Walters-Zucco, two sisters Carmella (late William) Gardner of Denver, CO and Nancy (Donald) Robak of St. Cloud, MN and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 3 – 8 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where services will be held on Thursday February 18th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary & Joseph at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to United Way of Niagara, 3000 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
