Ross P. Eracitano, age 101, of Niagara Falls, passed away on March 2, 2019. He was born on November 22, 1917 in Niagara Falls, the son of the late Antonio and Ida (Bax) Jircitano.
Ross was raised in Niagara Falls and attended local schools. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII and was honorably discharged as Sargent on September 15, 1945. Ross married Lois McCoy and spent seventy-three loving years together. Ross worked for New York Central Rail Road and following his retirement, he continued working and volunteering for the VFW Post 917 holding various positions and retired at the age of 90. Ross enjoyed bowling, camping and woodworking but his passion was centered around his family. He loved family gatherings and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Eracitano is survived by his children, Patricia (Robert) Volpe, Daniel Eracitano and Lori (David) Trane; grandchildren, Sheri, Ross, Ronalyne, Marti, Paul and Ashley; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; sisters-in-law, Julie Jircitano, Doreen Jircitano and Iris Jircitano; brother-in-law, Earl Mang and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Eracitano was predeceased by a son, Ronald Eracitano; four sisters and seven brothers.
Visitation will begin on Saturday, March 9 th from 1 – 4 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m., concluding with Military Honors.
