Roy C. Hinton, 84, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 22, 2022, in N.F. Memorial Medical Center. Born in Surrey, England, he was the son of the late James and Caroline Hinton.

Roy was raised in England and served in the British Armed Forces until his honorable discharge. He moved to St. Catharines, Ontario, and later immigrated to the United States in 1975. Roy married his beloved wife, Clara (Caira) Hinton, in Niagara Falls on September 27, 1975.

Roy developed a passion for repairing and restoring cars at a young age. He began working at his father's auto shop in England, where he proudly pumped gas for the famous John Lennon and Petula Clarke. He also worked at R and B Motors and Mario's Auto in Niagara Falls for many years until his retirement. When Roy wasn't working on cars, he enjoyed attending formula one race events throughout the United States and Canada.

Roy enjoyed golfing and bowling during his younger years. Throughout his golden years, he loved spending time with his friends at Marsh's General Store, as well as shopping and going out to eat with his wife.

Above all, Roy centered his life around his entire family and cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife of 46 years, Roy is survived by his children, Susan Hinton, Jason (Marlene) Hinton and Jennifer A. Hinton; his grandchildren, Samuel, Andrew, Kendra and Brandon; and many nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren, as well as his cat, Tammy. Roy was predeceased by his three siblings.
