Roy LaGreca, Jr., 62, of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Roy, Sr. and Anne (Miskov) LaGreca.
Roy attended local schools and graduated from the former LaSalle Senior High School in 1970. He then attended S.U.N.Y Geneseo and the University of Buffalo, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in 1975. In 1976, he married Karen (Vance) LaGreca and together they moved to California. Roy founded the LaGreca Concrete Construction Company Inc. in 1979, and became a very successful businessman.
Roy was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and member of the Worldwide Buffalo Backers and Social Club. Roy's passion was music, especially classic rock. He was a gifted musician, as well as the lead guitarist and vocalist in his band, Psychedelicatessen in California, with his bandmates John, Jim and Mark. Above all, Roy loved and was loved by his lifetime friends throughout Niagara Falls, other parts of Western New York, Florida, Michigan, Nebraska and California. He will be missed forever.
Roy is survived by his son Marc LaGreca of San Pedro, CA; former wife, Karen (Vance) LaGreca, one brother Charles LaGreca of Niagara Falls, NY; three sisters Diane (Ray Rivard) LaGreca of Fort Erie, Ontario, Lisa (Will Williams) LaGreca of Redondo Beach, CA and Nancy (Jack Eure) LaGreca of Norman, OK; his uncle Charles (late Maureen) LaGreca of Welland, Ontario, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 11th from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will be held on Thursday February 12th at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P/O Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or to a charity of one's choice.
