Ruby C. "Bonnie" (Hague) Bishara Haick, 78, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY died on Wednesday March 25, 2009 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Hibbs, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Reuben W. Hague and Matilda (Haught) Hague Downs and step daughter of the late William Downs.

In the 1940's Bonnie came to Niagara Falls, NY with her family and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. She was predeceased by her husband George S. Bishara in 1956 and her husband Edward M. Haick in 1989. She was employed as manager of the handbag department at the former Jenss Department Store on Main Street in Niagara Falls for twenty five years.

Bonnie was a member and served as president of the St. George Antiochian Church Women's Society and actively participated in all other activities there as well. When her children were younger, she was a member of the Parent Teacher's Association and Parent Education Groups at their school and was instrumental in organizing the fundraisers for the gym at the former 17th Street School in Niagara Falls.

Bonnie was a trusted and loyal friend to many. Often family and friends would seek her advice and she would always offer her maternal wisdom. Her courage, strength and faith had been an inspiration to all who knew her. Bonnie especially enjoyed spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren who were truly the loves of her life.

Ruby is survived by two children Bonnie Mae (late William) Bain of Las Vegas, NV and Carl (Robin) Bishara of Lewiston, NY and was predeceased by one son Michael E. Haick. She is also survived by two grandchildren Kaitlyn C. Bishara and Matthew G. Bishara and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by three sisters Edna Mae (late Harry) Brewer, Evelyn V. (late Clyde) Berg and Betty Hague.

Friends may call on Friday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Saturday, March 28th at 9:45 a.m. and at 10:30 a.m. in St. George's Antiochian Orthodox Church, 1073 Saunders Settlement Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Paul Solberg and The Very Rev. George Aswad officiating. Interment in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
