Rudolph P. Trincanati, a native and longtime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away on January 3, 2019, in Kenmore, NY at the age of 90, after a brief illness.
Rudy attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School and Bliss Electrical School in Takoma Park, Maryland. He proudly served with the U.S. Navy on the heavy cruiser U.S.S. Oregon City and aircraft carrier U.S.S. Randolph. As a licensed master electrician, he was a self-employed electrical contractor, worked for the City of Niagara Falls in the city's convention center and retired as the city's chief electrical inspector.
A tireless caregiver serving family and friends in retirement, he was presented with the Burt P. Flickinger Jr. Caregiver of the Year Award in 2001. He also worked countless hours for the St. Joseph Outreach Pantry, managing the day to day operations, almost until the age of 87.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, Anthony C. and Nina Trincanati and spouses, Gloria F. Trincanati and Theresa V. Trincanati. He is survived by his loving children and step-children, Stephen (Nora) Trincanati of Buffalo, Donna (late Dr. Salvator) LaMastra of Kenmore, Rick (Lynda) Kennedy and Sharon (Mike) Chernoski of St. Catharines, Ontario. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Mary Trincanati of Buffalo, Melissa (John) Stahl of Yardley, Pennsylvania, Renay Kennedy, Terry and Chris Chernoski of St. Catharines. He is also survived by his beloved sister and brother in law, Margaret (Nicholas) Manzare of Niagara Falls, dear former brother-in-law and sister-in-law Allen (Dorothy) Heaslip of Phoenix, Arizona and his great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews as well as his many friends.
Visitation will begin on Sunday, January 6th from 4-8 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 A.M. in Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301. Everyone please assemble at church. Interment will follow with Military Honors in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Rudy's name to the Alzheimer's Association of Western New York are appreciated.
