Salvatore "Sam" A. Gasbarre, 81, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Dominick and Josephine (Paonessa) Gasbarre.

Sam was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. He attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1950. On May 31, 1952, he married his high school sweetheart, Marlene (Rivers) Gasbarre at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls. Sam was employed as a truck driver for various beer distribution companies throughout Niagara Falls and retired from Tondisco Distributing Company in 1994. He was a member of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America and a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus both in Niagara Falls. In his leisure time he enjoyed woodworking and going to the Casino. But Sam's greatest pleasure was spending time with his loving family.

In addition to his wife of sixty two years, Salvatore is survived by two sons Dominic (Lesleigh) Gasbarre of California and Richard (Billie) Gasbarre of Niagara Falls, NY; three grandsons Nicholas Gasbarre, Samuel Gasbarre and Tyler Gasbarre; one step grandchild Ryan Mason, two sisters Eleanor Favata of Las Vegas, NV and Margaret (late Paul) Demske of Niagara Falls, NY, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also the brother-in-law of Robert (Sharon) Rivers of Florida, Gail Rivers of Lockport, Dawn (Ronald) Huey of Niagara Falls, NY; Judith (Dr. Lawrence) Volland of Lockport and Patricia (Michael) Barnes of Las Vegas, NV.

There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Andrew Lauricella officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Niagara Hospice Foundation, Inc., 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
