It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Salvatore "Sam" Achille Colosimo, 89, on December 1, 2017. Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, he was the son of the late Frank and Rose (Leone) Colosimo.

Sam moved to Niagara Falls, NY with his family as a child and attended local schools. He served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge. On July 1, 1950, Sam married his loving wife Grace (Pinkham) Colosimo. He was employed as a welder at General Motors for many years prior to his retirement. He was also an accomplished thoroughbred horse trainer and breeder.  Above all, Mr. Colosimo had a great sense of humor and enjoyed being the center of attention.

In addition to his wife of 67 years, Sam is survived by his daughter, Cathie (late Dennis Russell) Colosimo-Gough; and predeceased by his son, Frank Colosimo. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jason Gough, Corey Gough, Frank Colosimo, Richard Colosimo and Grace Colosimo; great-grandson, Alexander Sabella; siblings Angeline Krawczyk, Jennie Lazarro and Richard (Josie) Colosimo; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two siblings, Marilyn (Michael) Willard and Achille (Rose) Colosimo.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 5 ^th from 4 – 8 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, where funeral services will begin at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, December 6 ^th . Interment with Military Honors in Riverdale Cemetery will follow.
