Salvatore "Sam" J. Chiappone, DDS, 100 years old, resided in North Olmstead, OH, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on February 22, 2021. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Russell "Charlie" and Lucy (Fina) Chiappone; and husband of the late Anita Mae (Sbarbati) Chiappone, who he married on September 27, 1943 in Our Lady of Lebanon Church.  Mrs. Chiappone predeceased him after 69 years of marriage.

Sam graduated from Niagara Falls High School and the University at Buffalo for Dentistry. He proudly served in the US Army from 1943 to 1944.

He designed the architectural plans for his family home on Vanderbilt Avenue, and the Niagara Dental Arts Building where he practiced for over 50 years. He also formed the Restorative Dentistry Group in Canada and NY., and was passionate for his "teaching about the bite" technique. He loved to exercise, and was often seen swimming at the YMCA or walking home from work.

Dr. Chiappone is survived by two children, Karen L. Veillette and John J. Chiappone, and predeceased by his daughter, Nancy Gail (Terry) Chiappone Tempest, his son, Thomas R. (Gina) Chiappone, and his sister, Agnes (late James) Falcone. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Steven M. Veillette, Lisa (Wes) Gilmore, Mark (Jessica) Tempest, Brittney (Bryan) Cap, Vincent Chiappone, Giovanni Chiappone, Mariana (Kyle) Gibas, Michael Chiappone, and nine beloved great-grandchildren, and several nephews.

Visitation will be on Saturday, March 6 from 9 – 11:15 A.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon at Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph's Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY.
