Salvatore Ognibene, 78, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Villalba, Sicily, Italy, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Caterina (Surdi) Ognibene.

Sal was raised in Italy before moving with his family to Niagara Falls, NY. He worked at Niagara Metals and later owned and operated Ognibene Construction for many years until his retirement

A proud member of the Cristoforo Colombo Society, Sal was deeply involved and served as a past president. His Italian heritage and community ties were a meaningful part of his life.

Sal will be remembered most for his remarkable talent as a woodworker. His beautiful, handcrafted furniture stands as a lasting testament to his creativity and skill.

He is survived by his daughters, Cathy-Lynn Ognibene and Melissa Ognibene; and his cherished grandchildren, Julian, Rawlings, Rosalia, Dante, and Autumn-Skye; and his former wife Antoinette Ognibene. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who will hold his memory close.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Ignazio “Nash” Ognibene, Josephine (late Salvatore) Vicari, Giuseppe (Rosa) Ognibene, John Ognibene, Vincent Ognibene, Charles Ognibene, Josephine Ognibene, and Giuseppe Ognibene.

In accordance with Salvatore’s wishes, there will be no funeral services at this time.
