Salvatore L. 'Sam' Baiera, 95, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on July 24, 2022 at Northgate Health Care Facility in North Tonawanda, NY.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Leonard and Josephine (Capizzi) Baiera.

Sam served in the United States Army in the 2 ^nd Armored Division and served in Germany during the Cold War from 1950 until his honorable discharge in 1952. On August 9, 1976, he married Therese D. (Gervais) Baiera at St. Theresa's Church in Niagara Falls.  He was employed as a Custodian for Grand Island High School for 33 years, and was also employed as a Store Room Clerk at Niagara University   He also worked for the American Sales Book, for Moore Business Forms as a Pressman Assistant, and as a Laborer with International Paper Company.  Sam was a member of St. Raphael's Parish, where he was very active, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Bereavement Committee, as well as a volunteer at various church functions.   Sam enjoyed senior bowling, frequenting the YMCA, singing karaoke, and fishing.

In addition to his wife of 45 years, Sam is survived by his daughter, Jodi Ann Stoebe; three grandchildren; his sister, Shirley (Thomas) Wright, as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his siblings, Sylvia (late Lefty) Kaple, Connie (late Louis) Masic and Clarence LaRoche.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 28 from 9-10 AM at St. Raphael Church, 3840 Macklem Ave, Niagara Falls, NY 14305, where Salvatore's Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY with Military Honors.  If desired, memorial offerings may be made to St. Raphael's Church.  Arrangements by M.J.
