Sam Fruscione, 83, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2022, just one day following the loss of his beloved wife, Carolyn (Mariano) Fruscione, whom he married at St. Anne's Church in Niagara Falls, Ontario in 1961. Shortly after they moved to 20 th Street in Niagara Falls, NY, and built their home on Third Avenue in the Town of Niagara in 1963.
Born and raised in Niagara Falls, Sam was the son of the late Samuel and Mary (Canaley) Fruscione. He graduated from Niagara Falls High School and enlisted in the NYS National Guard. At the age of 16, he began working at the former Corsini's Bakery as a baker, a position he truly loved. From 1957 to 2017, he served as the Sales Manager for Sears, Roebuck and Co. prior to retiring.
Sam was a longtime member of the Niagara Wheatfield Athletic Association, serving as president of the organization from 1970-1978. He was an outstanding cook, enjoyed camping, as well as traveling. He was also a devout Catholic, cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, and took the utmost care for his beloved wife.
Mr. Fruscione is survived by his two children, Samuel (Paula) Fruscione and David (Felicity) Fruscione; his grandchildren, Samantha, Erica, Jade Li and Carmelo; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Geraldine (late Leo) McDonald.
Sam and Carolyn's Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, October 29 at 11:00 AM in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial offerings may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements by M.J Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel.
