Samuel J. Cimino, Sr., 85, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at his residence. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the loving son of the late Michael and Jessie (Mancuso) Cimino.
Sam attended local schools and graduated from Trott Vocational High School. On May 22, 1953, he enlisted into the United States Army during the Korean War until his honorable discharge on April 23, 1955. Following his discharge, he was awarded the United Nations and National Defense Medals for his dedicated service.
Sam married his beloved wife, Norma G. (Scrivano) Cimino on June 23, 1956 at St. Joseph Church. Mrs. Cimino passed away on June 13, 1983. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. Above all, Sam especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Mr. Cimino is survived by his children, John M. (Rebecca) Cimino and Samuel J. Cimino, Jr.; his cherished grandchildren, John M. Cimino, Jr and Sara Grace Cimino; one sister, Phyllis Ann (Frederick) Baron; his daughter-in-law, Rose Cimino, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 27 th from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, where funeral services will begin on Friday at 9:15 A.M., followed by Sam's Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial offerings may be made to the American Heart Association.
