Samuel Costanzo, 97, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Wednesday November 3, 2010 at his residence under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Joseph and Maria (Bongiovanni) Costanzo.

Samuel was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. He attended local schools including the former Trott Vocational High School. On September 30, 1939 he married Helen M. (Pospieszny) Costanzo at Holy Trinity Church in Niagara Falls, NY. He was employed as a lab technician at Union Carbide in Niagara Falls and retired in 1975 after thirty five years of service. In his leisure time Samuel enjoyed gardening and making wine. In his younger years, he also liked bowling.

In addition to his wife of seventy one years, Mr. Costanzo is survived by three children Samuel J. (Sylvia J.) Costanzo, Marianne Palmisano both of Lewiston, NY and Frederick Costanzo of Niagara Falls, NY; four grandchildren Cathleen Healey, Tanya (Costanzo) Lockwood, Marissa (Costanzo) Scalzetti and Sara Costanzo, four great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters Sadie L. Costanzo, Angela Zaciera and three brothers Frank Costanzo, Joseph Costanzo and Charles Costanzo.

There will be no prior visitation. Private funeral services and interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY will be held at the convenience of the family.
