Samuel A. Gentile, 92, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Samuel P. and Carmella Gentile.
Samuel served in the United States Army during World War II until his honorable discharge. On February 3, 1945, he married Maud E. (Dodman) Gentile in England. Maud predeceased him on May 26, 2009. Sam was employed as a foreman at the former New York Central Railroad in Niagara Falls for many years until his retirement. Most importantly, Sam will be remembered as a hardworking and loving family man who centered his life around his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Gentile is survived by his children, Carol Ann (Richard) Pawlak, Carmella Gentile, Samuel Gentile, Josephine Mylar and Rocco (Tashell McNeil) Lundy; his grandchildren, Gina Chiappone, Ann-Margret Lundy-Bradley, Christy (Donald) Smith, Carol-Ann (Anthony) DiBesco; one sister, Carmella (late Frank) Catanese, as well as many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Samuel was predeceased by one grandson, Gary Hardy II and five siblings, Anne (late Nick) Rizzo, Mary (late John) Ferraro, Josephine (late Frank) Williams, Mike (late Dorothy) Marra, Florence (late Louie) Capizzi.
There will be no prior visitation. Funeral services and interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY will be held at the convenience of the family.
