Samuel "Sam" J. Giarrizzo, 88, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Tuesday June 10, 2014 at Northgate Manor in North Tonawanda, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Carmello and Jennie (DiPrima) Giarrizzo.

Sam was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. He served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge on July 9, 1949. Samuel was employed at the former Kimberly Clark Corporation and later at Stella Niagara Education Park in the maintenance department. He had a keen interest in learning about Niagara Falls History, the weather and astronomy.

Mr. Giarrizzo is survived by his wife Lillian (Hager) Giarrizzo, three children Linda Giarrizzo, Sharon Giarrizzo-Wilson and Salvatore Giarrizzo; four grandchildren Amber Giarrizzo, Kaylin (Patrick) McCarthy, Thomas Ryan Wilson and Anne Giarrizzo; one great grandson Alden Fox McCarthy; two sisters Mary Carlson and Carrie Giarrizzo and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no prior visitation. In lieu of flowers Mr. Giarrizzo's family would appreciate contributions in memory of Sam be made to Niagara Hospice Jeanne's House, 7264 Nash Road, North Tonawanda, NY 14120.
