Samuel Licata, 68, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Agatino and Beatrice (Adriatico) Licata.
Sam was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School and obtained his Associate degree from Bryant and Stratton College. He was employed as a machinist at Delphi (formerly Harrison Radiator) for over 30 years prior to his retirement.
Sam was a lifelong golfer, enjoyed bowling, and loved spending time at Sammy's Pizzeria with his friends. Sam was known for his warm smile as well as his animated sense of humor. He had a deep appreciation for his Italian heritage and traditions. Above all, Sam centered his life around his family who will miss him dearly.
Sam is survived by his beloved children, Jessica Zortman, Matthew Licata and Natalie (Robert Swartz, NFFD) Licata; his sister, Diana (Michael NFPD, Ret.) Kachurek; one niece, Sara Kachurek; and several aunts, an uncle, and many cousins. In addition to his parents, Sam was predeceased by his former wife Kathy Dembek and his brother John Licata.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 21 from 4 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Samuel's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM in Holy Family Parish at Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Please assemble at church. Interment will follow privately in St. Joseph Cemetery.
