Samuel J. Mooradian, 55, of Wellington, Florida, died May 2, 2019.  Sam was born in Downey, California; devoted son of the late Lydia S. "Cici" (Richard) Soluri (Manerino) and Harry S. Mooradian.

Sam began his early career in the Marines and had a varied path that included financial advising, forest preserve ranger and medical assistant at Newport Harbor Animal Hospital in California.  He received an Associate's Degree in Sports Management from Medaille College in Buffalo where he played soccer and lacrosse, as well as working with housing and facilities and coaching youth soccer programs.  He went on to serve as Assistant Director of Resident Life and lacrosse coach at Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, Ohio.  His incredible love and care for animals led him to horse grooming and training where he was in residence with several horse farms in Florida and Missouri, gaining a reputation as a horse whisperer.   While in Missouri he found his love Sophie as a puppy who brought great joy to all who knew her.

Sam was an athlete from childhood playing various sports and athletic pursuits including running marathons.  His love of sports and ability to relate to a wide-range of people made him a great coach.  He was curious about all subjects, knowing something about everything when you least expected it. He made friends quickly, many who were deeply committed to him.  Sam laughed easily as he infused his sense of humor and flashed his large grin in any conversation.  His connection to animals was truly a rare gift.

Sam was the father of Joseph R. Klein and Christian G. Klein, brother of Krista L. Mooradian and Alice B. (Robert) Balon, and uncle to Lucas, James and Finn. Loving nephew to Louise "Lulu" (Thomas) Yots and late Ann "Cookie" (late Louis) Dangelo, and cousin to Jason (Becky) Yots and Jake and George, and Benjamin (Jessica) Yots plus many more cousins.  Devoted grandson of the late Joseph and Louise Manerino, and late Barbara and Samuel Mooradian.

Sam's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 10, at 10:00 AM at Niagara University Chapel, Lewiston.  EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT THE CHURCH.  Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friends of the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter, 380 Oak Street, Buffalo, NY, 14203.  Arrangements by M.J.
