Samuel Ming, Sr. 84, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on November 19, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born December 12, 1932 in Luverne, Alabama, he was the son of the late Columbus and Flora (Richburg) Ming.
Samuel served in the United States Army from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1955, and afterwards moved to the Niagara Falls area where he has resided until the present time. For nearly 30 years, he was employed at the former Carborundum Company, later known as Washington Mills Co. in Niagara Falls until his retirement. Samuel was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed, hunting, fishing and camping. He was a passionate golfer and also participated in various local bowling leagues. One of Samuel's greatest loves was jazz music. He was an accomplished musician who played the trumpet, organ and clarinet.

, Regina Ming, Samuel Ming, Jr., Tara Ming, Lamar Ming and Sonya Ming-Bianco (John Bianco). Ten grandchildren, Sylvester Ballard, II, Shamir Ballard, Sahara Ballard, Desiree Santiago, Tiara Ming, Tanae Ming, Tarren Pope, Quynh-Jade Ming, Haley Bianco and Sabrina Bianco, seven great-grandchildren, Tyler Coleman, Chynia Ballard, Jaylen Orange, Jade Orange, Aydin Santiago, Linnie Santiago and Kaiya Pecikonis, a niece Aretheta Ming and nephew Leon Ming Jr, as well as his former wife, Ruby C. Ming. He was also predeceased by a brother, Leon Ming and sister, Dora Ming Price.
Visitation will be held on Saturday November 25
th
from 11 AM – 12 Noon at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 Military Road Niagara Falls, NY where funeral services will follow at 12 Noon. Interment with Military Honors in Oakwood Cemetery.
