Obituary

Samuel 'Sambo' Ventrilla, 84, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Niagara Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Niagara Falls, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Angelo and Nancy (Amorosa) Vendrilla.

Sambo, as he was affectionately known, was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Navy from August 4, 1950 until his honorable discharge on May 12, 1954 and was the recipient of a National Defense Service Medal. He was employed as an engineer for Conrail Railroad in Niagara Falls, NY. Sambo was very artistic and gifted at drawing and doing calligraphy. He loved Bingo and enjoyed weekly visits with his sisters. Sambo also liked going to Frankie's Donuts in Niagara Falls.

Samuel is survived by three sisters Florence (late Warren) White, Virginia (late Marco) Caira and Mary (Dennis) Universal, one brother Angelo Ventrilla and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Ventrilla's family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Dennis and Mary Universal for their weekly visits of almost five years.

There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a committal service on Saturday, June 4th at 10:30 A.M. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 500 Riverdale Avenue, Lewiston, NY. PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CEMETERY.
