Sandra M. (Capatosto) Mangione, 72, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday June 12, 2011in Concord, North Carolina. Born in Thorold, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Matilda (White) Capatosto.

Sandra moved to Niagara Falls, NY as a child with her family and attended local schools. She married Joseph 'Gus' Mangione on June 4, 1960 at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Sandra was employed as a clerk at the former S.S. Kresge Department Store in Niagara Falls and later as a hostess at the former Goose's Roost Restaurant airport location. Sandra was a longtime member of St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls. She loved dancing, and was a member of a local dance club in North Tonawanda. Sandra was also an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards with family as well as her Sunday card club. Above all, Sandra adored her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of fifty one years, Mrs. Mangione is survived by three children, Gina (late Mark) Bax of Concord, NC; Joseph (Lisa) Mangione of Wheatfield, NY and Michele (Robert) Bruno of Concord, NC; ten grandchildren, Marc, Lara and Santino Bax; Joey, Anthony, Matt and Brianna Mangione; Mariah, Ariana and Bobby Bruno; two brothers, Donald Capatosto of Wheatfield, NY and Sam (Robin) Capatosto of Lewiston, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday June 17, 2011 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane R. Klizek officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association P.O.
