Sarah L. Ianni, 85, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY passed away Wednesday August 6, 2014 in Rochester, NY. Born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Carmen and Edith (Gagliardi) Valentino and was proud of her Niagara Falls heritage.

Sarah attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On August 9, 1947 she married Victor H. Ianni at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Ianni predeceased her on July 30, 2003. In her leisure Mrs. Ianni enjoyed crocheting, and used those talents to assist with "Work of Our Hands" program at Church of the Transfiguration in Rochester, NY. Most importantly Sarah enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters, which were the light of her life.

Mrs. Ianni is survived by one son, David (Lany) Ianni of Pittsford, NY; two beloved granddaughters Lara and Sara Lynn; three sisters Jennie (John) Scavulli, Anna Marie (late John) Whitebread, and Theresa (late Alfred) Filippelli; also survived by many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Sarah's family would like to thank the staff at The Cottages at Unity in Rochester for the care and compassion shown during her stay.

No prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday August 13th at 12 Noon at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Ave. Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls.
