Savario R. "Sam" Torcasio, 69, of Lewiston, NY passed away after a long illness on Sunday June 27th, 2010 at Schoellkopf Health Care Facility in Niagara Falls, NY. Born and educated in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Samuel A. and Ann (Magliarditi) Torcasio.

Mr. Torcasio worked for the United States Post Office as a letter carrier in Niagara Falls, Grand Island and Tonawanda for over 20 years. He also owned and operated various pizzerias in Niagara Falls and Grand Island. Sam currently owned and operated Portage House Motel in Lewiston, NY. An avid softball player for over 25 years, Sam also enjoyed fishing. A very helpful person, he was always willing to assist those in need.

Sam is survived by his wife Susanne (Wilgos) Torcasio, and their daughter Susanne Torcasio. He is also survived by his children Samuel (Annie) Torcasio of Cheektowaga, NY, Lauren (John) Frosolone of Youngstown, NY and the late Vincent Torcasio; six grandchildren Samuel Torcasio, Vincent Torcasio, Jillian Frosolone, Ashlie Torcasio, Jordyn Torcasio, Jaclyn Frosolone; two step-grandchildren Mary and Sarah Lichtenberger, and the late Mark Lichtenberger; a brother Richard (Margaret) Torcasio of Town of Niagara, NY; a sister Judi (Anthony Lucatra) Delgrolice of Niagara Falls, NY; his former wife Eleanor Torcasio, and aunts, uncles, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sam was the son-in-law of Susan (Edward) Wilgos and brother-in-law of Debra (Steve) Janeczko and Richard (MiKyong) Wilgos.

Visitation will be on Tuesday 3 – 7 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD. NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Wednesday June 30th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Chrisitian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, 620 Center St. Lewiston, NY with Rev. Sebastian C. Pierro officiating. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Schoellkopf Health Care Facility, 621 10th Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14302.
