Obituary

I arrived on this earth October 3, 1950 and today, January 19, 2017, my worldly journey has come to an end. I have been blessed in so many ways throughout my lifetime. Blessed with a family of two beautiful, sincere, loving children. My heart, Andrea (Giambattista) Stevens and my strength, Serofino Agostino Giambattista. A son-in-law that I could not ask more from, Gordon Stevens. My loving Grandson Blake Serafino Stevens, loving parents Serofino 'Sam' and Martha (Marinucci) Giambattista and brother Anthony (Kathy) Giambattista. Dearest in laws Marie (late Louis) Filicetti; Gloria (Chris) Stanz, Gilda Bonnevie, late Marcia (Stephen) Urbaniak; uncle and aunt, Robert (Elaine) Marinucci, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and many wonderful longtime and new friends as well as my best bud Travis. Lastly but most importantly my wife, Patricia (Filicetti) Giambattista. A woman with a heart like gold and as big as this universe, a woman who thinks of everyone else before herself. A woman who became a caregiver to me after my diagnoses, who epitomizes the very word caregiver. If not for my wonderful Patricia, my worldly journey would not have lasted this long.

Where I worked or what I did for a living is not important. What is important is who I was, how I walked through this worldly life. Believe me, I made many mistakes, but I tried to learn from them all, hopefully I did. I loved with all of my being, I adored loyalty and the truth. I loved without conditions, the only way to true love. I also learned that love will die without respect as its companion. You need both for a loving relationship of any and all kinds. For me, this was my life's most important lesson, love plus respect, without conditions equals a beautiful lifetime with inner peace. I leave you with this, "My Lung Cancer was a true blessing for me. Without it, I would not have the relationship I have with my God, and I would have not found the peace, happiness and contentment that I have. These last sixty-eight months since my diagnoses have been the best times of my life". I also want you all to know that we will see each other again, I look forward to it, in a much better place, where there is no sorrow, no pain, no hurt, only wholeness. Where all are so happy and healthy. Please follow and live in HIS word, accept Jesus, give your heart and soul to HIM. As I embrace my Lord I wait for you all patiently with a smile. Remember always, God's Got This. See you in the New Jerusalem…. 1 Corinthians 2:7-9.
