Obituary

Sharon A. Beningo, 76, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026, at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born in Lebanon, TN, she was the daughter of the late Billie Jo (Burton) Elmore and the step‑daughter of the late Raymond Elmore.

Sharon graduated from high school in Tennessee. On May 4, 1967, she married Richard Beningo in Lebanon, TN, and the couple relocated to Niagara Falls in 1969. Sharon was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse for various hospitals and health care facilities throughout Western New York for 10 years until her retirement in the late 1990s, where she was known for her compassion, dedication, and gentle spirit.

A Woman of God, Sharon found strength and comfort in her faith and loved reading her Bible. She enjoyed playing games on her phone, but above all, she cherished the time she spent with her family.

In addition to her husband of 59 years, Sharon is survived by her daughters, Angela (William) Gordner and Susan “Sue” Beningo; her grandchildren, Raymond Gordner, Christopher (Brandi) Gordner, Richard S. Beningo, Zachary Sabol, and Cazimer Sabol, Jr.; and her great‑grandchildren, Raymond II, Amelia, Olivia, Christopher Jr., and Carson. She is also survived by her brother, Tony (Karen) Elmore; her uncle, Phil (Billie Jean) Burton; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sharon was sadly predeceased by her daughter, Theresa Sabol.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, from 4 – 6 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will be held at 6 PM.
