Sherman A. Walker, 63, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014 at N.F. Memorial Medical Center. Born in Buffalo, NY he was the son of the late Sherman L. and Bessie Walker.
Sherman was employed as a home health care aide for various residents of Buffalo and Niagara Falls, NY. On February 14, 2010, he married his loving wife, Freda (Wilson) Walker at the Potter's House in Niagara Falls. Freda preceded him in death on February 26, 2011. Sherman was an active member of the Potter's House where he served as a deacon, and devoted his time to serving those in need and the needs of the church. He relocated to Niagara Falls in search of a new found freedom and life in sobriety. As a recovering addict himself, he was compelled to become a mentor and guide to those battling the same addictions. Sherman was an avid sports fan particularly of the Buffalo Bills. In his leisure time he enjoyed poetry and reading.
Sherman is survived by four children Shawn Walker, Sahire Walker, Simone Walker and Shermika Walker, five step children Claude Wilson, Rasheen Wilson, Timothy Ellison, Jermaine Ellison and Javon Ellison, twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren, his special friend Joanne and dearest friend Alfred Mills, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters.
