Shirley Marie Contento, 80, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her beloved family. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ruth (Jackson) Dugan.

Shirley graduated from Madonna High School and earned her Associate's degree from Niagara County Community College. On April 8, 1967 she married her beloved husband, Joseph F. Contento at Prince of Peace Church in Niagara Falls.

Shirley began working for the Niagara Falls Board of Education for 10 years prior to becoming the Account Clerk at Niagara University. She later retired from Niagara County Community College after many years.

Shirley enjoyed reading, as well as traveling. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of 57 years, she is survived by her sons, Anthony (Mone) Contento and Joseph F. (Catherine) Contento Jr; her grandchildren, William Contento, Olivia Contento, Dominic Contento, Sophia Contento and Ella Contento, her sister, Mary (late Eugene) Jackson, and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley was predeceased by four siblings, Dolores (Frank) Orfano, Margaret (late Hubert) Kern, Theresa Dugan and Joseph Gerard Dugan.

Funeral services and entombment were held privately for Shirley's family in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
