Shirley Stirling, 81, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on April 12, 2022 in Legacy at Grande'Vie Assisted Living in Penfield, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Rose (Denitto) Mariano.
Shirley graduated from Niagara Falls High School and was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She worked as a customer service representative at the Social Security Administration for many years until her retirement.
Shirley was a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of Prince of Peace Church, where she was also a member of their choir. She was a founding member of the Parent's Club at the St. Mary's School for the Deaf in the 1960s, and also belonged to the Red Hat Society and Free Wheelers Car Club.
Shirley enjoyed baking cookies as well as spending time with her family and friends. Above all, she was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-mother.
Shirley is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Crystal) Perri, David (Diana) Perri and Beth (Jeff) Perri-Mills; her grandchildren, Selena (Frank) Perri, Jeff Perri Jr., Geoffrey (Caitlin) Stowe, D.J. Perri, Danielle (Jon) Seaman, Geremy Stowe, Dominique Perri and Devon Perri; two great-grandchildren, Mirielle Stowe and Anthony Pera; her two sisters, Marlene (late Richard) Ruppert, Delores (Frank) Stiller; her beloved dog, Oscar and her best friend, Ralph Perri, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Robert R. Stirling and her sister, Carol (late Joseph) Wilson.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 20 from 4 – 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Shirley's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to St. Mary's School for the Deaf, 2253 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14214 .
