Shirley A. Tolomeo, 75, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on May 9, 2021 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.  Born in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Gertrude (Patnode) LaCounte.

Shirley came to the area as a child with her family and graduated from Niagara-Wheatfield High School in 1963.   On February 27, 1975, she married Gordon Tolomeo in Niagara Falls, NY.  Mr. Tolomeo predeceased her on December 21, 2002.   In her younger years, she was employed at the Post Office in Niagara Falls, NY.   Shirley was a great cook, and sports enthusiast.  She also loved making crafts, sewing and knitting.  Above all, she will be remembered for her loving heart, opening her home to anyone, and helping all of those who were in need.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Farinacci, her granddaughter, Grace Farinacci and her niece, Catherine (late Don Catalano), as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 14 from 9 – 10:15 AM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where funeral services will begin at 10:15 followed by Shirley's Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.  If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
