Sidney "Taboo" Booze, 54, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away suddenly on Wednesday March 10, 2010 at N. F. Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late James Roundtree and Zola (Works) King and stepson of Inez Roundtree of Hartland, NY and the late Willie King.
Taboo, as he was known to family and friends, attended local schools and was a 1972 graduate of the former LaSalle Senior High School where he played basketball. He furthered his education at Cortland State University. He was employed as a machinist at the former Durez Chemical Plant in Niagara Falls, NY and later owned several local businesses. He was a member of Potters House Christian Community Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Tab starred in two local productions at the Niagara Arts and Cultural Center. In his leisure time Tab enjoyed fishing, writing poetry, singing, playing pool, bid whist, chess and basketball. He also played several instruments and was an accomplished flutist. Above all Tab was a loving father, adored grandfather, great brother and friend to many.
In addition to his stepmother, Sidney "Taboo" is survived by three daughters Nadia (Ramon) Baker, Fatima Renee Mathews and Sydni Jada Booze all of Niagara Falls, NY; four grandchildren Deonte Mathews, Taylor Jackson, Jaden Baker and Londyn Mathews, eighteen siblings Terry Booze of Culver City, CA; Theresa (Keith) Englesson, Bishop Stephan (Celestine) Booze both of Niagara Falls, NY; David Roundtree, Michael Roundtree both of Hartland, NY; Debra Roundtree of Buffalo, NY; Duane Roundtree of Akron, OH; Dorrain Roundtree, James Roundtree, Jr. both of Buffalo, NY; Tyrone Roundtree of Akron, OH; Dale Roundtree, Mark Roundtree, Saleem Roundtree, Telnel Roundtree all of Hartland, NY; Salome Roundtree of Philadelphia, PA; Miriam Roundtree of Arizona, Simeon Roundtree of Hartland, NY and Aneesa Roundtree of Buffalo, NY and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. In addition to his parents and stepfather, Taboo was predeceased by one brother Troy Booze and one nephew Shaloin Smith.
Friends may call on Tuesday March 16th from 11 a.m. – 12 noon at the Potter's House Christian Community Church, 723 Seventh Street, Niagara Falls, NY where services will follow with Bishop Stephan Booze officiating.
